My design plan ...

1). Which building typology you are researching? I want to research Retail Facility typologies that have a sense of history such as an old courthouse look or maybe even a "post office" exterior design. I also want to scan the new and more modern looks as well by checking out department stores and toy stores.
2). Why are you researching this building typology? I'm researching this certain type of typology in order to give the retail look a more abstract and newer look.
3). What is the specialty of this building type you would like to research? The specialty of this building type was to make it a toy store that offers the customer the chance to make his/her own toy/s. It will be like an open door "factory" for the public.
4). What are the examples you will be researching?

   F - WARNER BROTHERS STUDIO STORE   Times Square - Architect: Wiliiam J. Commer Assc. (What I like about this space is that it is exactly 35,000 sq. ft. - which is what we will be working with)
5). What are your goals for working with this building type? My goals for working with this building type is provide lighting in most of the spaces that will be used, colorful materials that reflect colors that not only children will like but as well as adults, the use of glass and perhaps steel as well. I want to make most of these spaces very "homey" and welcoming almost as if you are at home.
6). What are the program elements that you see included at this point in your building?  Some program elements that I may include are the use of spaces, lighting, materials ( plastics, steel, glass, rubber ) and various displays.
